- commission: means the state transportation commission established in section 28 of article V of the state constitution of 1963. See Michigan Laws 247.660c
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
There is hereby established the office of audit within the department to conduct financial and performance audits. The office shall be headed by an individual appointed by, and serving at the pleasure of, the state transportation commission. The duties, functions, and responsibilities of the office shall be as determined by the state transportation commission.
