  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
     Within the meaning of article VI (b) or VIII (a), a request or application for assistance from the insurance fund may be made by the governor whenever in his judgment the conditions qualifying this state for such assistance exist and it would be in the best interest of this state to make such request.
