It shall be unlawful for any person to shoot, molest, catch, injure, destroy or kill any wild waterfowl, wild shore bird, wild game birds or any other birds, or any wild animals except rabbits during the open season thereon, within, upon or above the waters of Gull Lake in either the county of Barry or the county of Kalamazoo in this state, or upon or above the territory within 80 rods from the nearest shore line of said lake in either of said counties: Provided, That this act shall not in any way operate to exempt from taxation any otherwise taxable property within the territorial limits herein described.
