- Hospital: includes public health centers and general, tuberculosis, mental, chronic disease, and other types of hospitals, and related facilities, such as laboratories, out-patient departments, nurses' home and training facilities, and central service facilities operated in connection with hospitals, but does not include any hospital furnishing primarily domiciliary care. - state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. - surgeon general: means the surgeon general of the public health service of the United States. See Michigan Laws 331.502
The state budget director is hereby authorized to receive federal funds in behalf of applicants and to authorize the director of the division of hospital survey and construction to transmit them to such applicants. There is hereby established, separate and apart from all public moneys and funds of this state, a hospital construction and planning fund. Money received from the federal government for a construction project approved by the surgeon general shall be deposited to the credit of this fund and shall be used solely for payments due applicants for work performed, or purchases made, in carrying out approved projects.
