Terms Used In Michigan Laws 338.3630
- Contest: means an individual bout between 2 boxers, 2 mixed martial artists, or 2 individuals engaged in other unarmed combat that is subject to this act. See Michigan Laws 338.3610
- Department: means the department of licensing and regulatory affairs. See Michigan Laws 338.3610
- Event: means a program of unarmed combat that is planned for a specific date and time by a promoter and is subject to the approval of the department under this act. See Michigan Laws 338.3610
- Person: means any of the following:
(i) An individual, corporation, limited liability company, partnership, association, or other legal entity. See Michigan Laws 338.3611Promoter: means a person that produces or stages, in whole or in part, an unarmed combat contest or event. See Michigan Laws 338.3611
(1) A person shall not conduct a contest or event that is regulated under this act without a promoter‘s license under this act, or engage in or attempt to engage in any other activity regulated under this act without the applicable license issued by the department under this act, unless the person is exempt from licensure under this act.
(2) An annual license issued under this act expires on August 31.
