Terms Used In Michigan Laws 561.11

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
     The circuit court may permit the amendment of the bill of complaint filed under the provisions of this act, in which case publication shall not be necessary unless the amendment involves the description of property: Provided, That additional publication shall be required only as to property described in the amendment and no such amendment shall operate to stay any proceedings as to property other than that described in the amendment.
