Terms Used In Michigan Laws 752.257

  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, as well as to individuals. See Michigan Laws 8.3l
     Any person, firm, co-partnership, association or corporation, or any officer, agent or employe thereof, who shall violate any provision of this act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than 500 dollars or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 1 year or by both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court.
