- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
- victim: means a victim of a violation of chapter LXVIIA of the Michigan penal code, 1931 PA 328, MCL 750. See Michigan Laws 752.982
This act does not affect any right that a victim has to recover damages under other law.
