Terms Used In Michigan Laws 762.10b

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, as well as to individuals. See Michigan Laws 8.3l
     If a person violates Act No. 53 of the Public Acts of 1979, being section 752.791 to 752.797 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, by accessing or causing access to be made to a computer, computer program, computer system, or computer network in 1 jurisdiction from another jurisdiction, the offense may be prosecuted in either jurisdiction.
