Terms Used In Michigan Laws 773.8

  • Magistrate: means a judge of the district court or a judge of a municipal court. See Michigan Laws 761.1
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
  • Testimony: Evidence presented orally by witnesses during trials or before grand juries.
     An inquisition taken at ……….. , in this county, on the ………. day of ………… , before …………., a magistrate, by the oaths of the jurors whose names are subscribed, who being sworn to inquire on behalf of the people of this state, when, in what manner, and by what means ………………..
