Terms Used In Michigan Laws 798.413
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. The revenues received under this act shall be deposited in the state treasury and credited to the general fund. The state of Michigan and the Michigan department of corrections and all personnel shall not be held liable for any damages which might result from the failure or inability of the prison water system to supply the private corporation with water under any circumstances.
