The provisions contained in chapter 148, in regard to the designation of the jail of a contiguous county for the use of any county; to the removal of prisoners in such cases; and to the removal of prisoners when danger shall be apprehended from fire or contagious disease, shall extend to prisoners confined upon any criminal process, or for a contempt, or under sentence, in like manner as to prisoners confined in civil cases.
