Terms Used In Texas Agriculture Code 161.103

  • Livestock: means cattle, horses, mules, asses, sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, exotic livestock, including elk and elk hybrids, and hogs, unless otherwise defined. See Texas Agriculture Code 1.003

A veterinarian who knows or suspects that livestock or domestic fowl have died from anthrax or ornithosis shall inform the owner or caretaker of the animal to dispose of each carcass by fire in accordance with § 161.004 of this code.
