- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Prosecute: To charge someone with a crime. A prosecutor tries a criminal case on behalf of the government.
If a corporation, including a railroad company or a common carrier, violates a provision of this chapter other than § 161.048, Subchapter F, or Subchapter G, the county attorney of the county in which the offense occurs shall file and prosecute a civil suit against the corporation on behalf of the state.
