- Department: means the Department of Agriculture. See Texas Agriculture Code 1.003
- Prosecute: To charge someone with a crime. A prosecutor tries a criminal case on behalf of the government.
The department may request the appropriate prosecuting attorney to prosecute a violation of a provision of this chapter.
