- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
This subchapter does not apply after the entry of a final decree in a reorganization case under a federal statute even though the court that renders the decree may retain jurisdiction of the case for limited purposes unrelated to consummation of the plan of reorganization.
