(a) This chapter does not authorize a government agency to burden a person‘s free exercise of religion.
(b) The protection of religious freedom afforded by this chapter is in addition to the protections provided under federal law and the constitutions of this state and the United States. This chapter may not be construed to affect or interpret § 4, 5, 6, or 7, Article I, Texas Constitution.
Terms Used In Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code 110.009
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- United States: includes a department, bureau, or other agency of the United States of America. See Texas Government Code 311.005
