Terms Used In Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code 134.002
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
- Property: means real and personal property. See Texas Government Code 311.005
In this chapter:
(1) “Person” means an individual, partnership, corporation, association, or other group, however organized.
(2) “Theft” means unlawfully appropriating property or unlawfully obtaining services as described by § 31.03, 31.04, 31.06, 31.07, 31.11, 31.12, 31.13, or 31.14, Penal Code.
