Terms Used In Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code 86.006
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Probation: A sentencing alternative to imprisonment in which the court releases convicted defendants under supervision as long as certain conditions are observed.
For purposes of this chapter, a person is considered convicted in a case if:
(1) sentence is imposed; or
(2) the person receives a fine, probation, or deferred adjudication.
