Terms Used In Texas Code of Criminal Procedure 58.101
- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
In this subchapter, “victim” means a person who was the subject of:
(1) an offense the commission of which leads to a reportable conviction or adjudication under Chapter 62; or
(2) an offense that is part of the same criminal episode, as defined by § 3.01, Penal Code, as an offense described by Subdivision (1).
