(a) The comptroller serves as the presiding officer of the board.
(b) The board shall appoint a secretary of the board whose duties may be prescribed by law and by the board.
Terms Used In Texas Education Code 54.611
- Comptroller: means the state comptroller of public accounts. See Texas Government Code 312.011
- Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
