(a) A parent, managing conservator, guardian, or other member of a household ordered to participate in services under § 264.203(a) may obtain those services from a qualified provider selected by the person.
(b) A parent, managing conservator, guardian, or other member of a household who obtains services from a provider selected by the person is responsible for the cost of those services.

Terms Used In Texas Family Code 264.2031

  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005

(c) A parent, managing conservator, guardian, or other member of a household who successfully completes the services ordered under § 264.203(a) must obtain verification from the service provider of that completion. The department shall accept the service provider’s verification provided under this subsection as proof that the person successfully completed the court-ordered services.
