(a) A person who violates § 371.051 commits an offense.

Terms Used In Texas Finance Code 371.304
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Year: means 12 consecutive months. See Texas Government Code 311.005

(e) An offense under Subsection (a) is a misdemeanor punishable by:
(1) a fine not to exceed $10,000;
(2) confinement in county jail for a term not to exceed one year; or
(3) both the fine and confinement.
