(a) The voters of Henderson County elect a district attorney for the 173rd Judicial District who represents the state in all cases in the district courts having jurisdiction in that county.
(b) The district attorney, with the approval of the Commissioners Court of Henderson County, may appoint assistants, investigators, and office personnel as he considers necessary.
