(a) The commission shall notify the attorney general of a hospital’s failure to report the cost of uncompensated hospital care on or before the report due date in accordance with rules adopted under § 526.0251(3).
(b) On receipt of the notice, the attorney general shall impose an administrative penalty on the hospital in the amount of $1,000 for each day after the report due date that the hospital has not submitted the report, not to exceed $10,000.
