(a) On entry of a not guilty plea for a violation of § 25.093, Education Code, the magistrate shall refer the case back to the referring court for all further pretrial proceedings and a full trial on the merits before the court or a jury.
(b) On denial by a child of truant conduct, as defined by § 65.003(a), Family Code, the magistrate shall refer the case to the appropriate truancy court for adjudication.
