Text of subsection effective until January 01, 2025

(a) This section applies only to:
(1) an individual listed in § 615.003(1) who is employed by a political subdivision of the state;
(2) a peace officer under Article 2.12, Code of Criminal Procedure, or other law who is employed by the state, including any state agency or any institution of higher education under § 61.003, Education Code;
(3) an individual listed in § 615.003(7); or
(4) an individual listed in § 615.003(10) or (11) who is employed by a political subdivision of the state.

Text of subsection effective on January 01, 2025

(a) This section applies only to:
(1) an individual listed in § 615.003(1) who is employed by a political subdivision of the state;
(2) a peace officer under Article 2A.001, Code of Criminal Procedure, or other law who is employed by the state, including any state agency or any institution of higher education under § 61.003, Education Code;
(3) an individual listed in § 615.003(7); or
(4) an individual listed in § 615.003(10) or (11) who is employed by a political subdivision of the state.
(b) If an individual listed in Subsection (a) dies and is to be buried in the individual’s uniform, the employing governmental entity shall provide the uniform at no cost.
