(a) The evidence testing account is created as a dedicated account in the general revenue fund of the state treasury.
(b) Money in the account may be appropriated only to the criminal justice division established under § 772.006 for purposes of the evidence testing grant program established under § 772.00715.
Terms Used In Texas Government Code 772.00716
- Comptroller: means the state comptroller of public accounts. See Texas Government Code 312.011
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Justice: when applied to a magistrate, means justice of the peace. See Texas Government Code 312.011
(c) Funds distributed under § 772.00715 are subject to audit by the comptroller.
