(a) The petition prescribed by § 286.021 may include a request that a proposition be submitted at the election to determine whether the board may issue general obligation bonds if the district is created. The petition must specify the maximum amount of bonds to be issued and their maximum maturity date.
(b) Even though the petition does not request submission of a proposition on whether the board may issue general obligation bonds, the commissioners court may, on the request of a petitioner, submit a proposition at the creation election on the issuance of bonds.
