Terms Used In Texas Health and Safety Code 825.051
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

A municipality with a population density of more than 2,500 persons per square mile may capture, relocate, or euthanize a coyote located within the municipality or the municipality’s extraterritorial jurisdiction. The municipality may request assistance from Texas Wildlife Services to capture, relocate, or euthanize a coyote.
