- Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
If there is a lien on a personal vehicle and the transportation network company’s insurer covers a claim arising out of an incident that occurred during a prearranged ride, the insurer shall issue payment for the claim:
(1) directly to the person who is repairing the vehicle; or
(2) jointly to the owner of the personal vehicle and the primary lienholder.
