Terms Used In Texas Insurance Code 2002.002
- Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
- Property: means real and personal property. See Texas Government Code 311.005
A provision in an insurance policy issued by an insurer subject to this subtitle or Subchapter C, Chapter 5, is void if the provision states that the encumbrance of the insured property by a lien of any character at the time of or after the policy’s issuance renders the policy void.
