- Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
- Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
- Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
An insurer may loan any of the insurer’s funds and accumulations and take as collateral an obligation secured by a first lien on real property or a leasehold estate that is eligible to secure a loan under § 425.214.
