- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
A domestic insurance company may amend its charter by paying to the commissioner a fee in the amount determined under Chapter 202 and by filing with the department:
(1) an application for a charter amendment on the form and containing the information prescribed by the commissioner; and
(2) the company’s proposed amendment.
