(a) The commissioner may employ at the registered insurer’s expense attorneys, actuaries, accountants, and other experts that are not a part of the commissioner’s staff and that are reasonably necessary to assist in the conduct of an examination under § 823.351.
(b) A person employed under this section is under the direction and control of the commissioner and may act only as an advisor.
