Terms Used In Texas Insurance Code 83.152

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.

A petition for appeal filed under Section 83.151 does not stay or vacate an order or a decision made under Subchapter B unless the court, after hearing, issues an order that specifically stays or vacates the order or decision.
