Terms Used In Texas Insurance Code 912.753

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.

An individual or a county mutual insurance company may appeal an order or a ruling of the commissioner under this chapter not later than the 60th day after the date of the order or ruling, in accordance with Subchapter D, Chapter 36.
