- Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
- Plaintiff: The person who files the complaint in a civil lawsuit.
In addition to a judgment awarded to the plaintiff, the court shall allow reasonable attorney’s fees and costs of the action to be paid by the defendant.
