Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 160.002
- Population: means the population shown by the most recent federal decennial census. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Probation: A sentencing alternative to imprisonment in which the court releases convicted defendants under supervision as long as certain conditions are observed.
This chapter applies only to a county with a population of more than 3.3 million and its employees, including but not limited to the employees of road and bridge districts, flood control districts, and juvenile probation departments in the county. However, this chapter does not apply to the employees of a sheriff’s department.
