Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 22.004
- Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
To be elected to an office of the municipality, a person must receive more votes than any other person for the office.
