Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 315.003
- General-law municipality: means a municipality designated by Chapter 5 as a Type A general-law municipality, Type B general-law municipality, or Type C general-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
- Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
A Type A general-law municipality may provide for the enclosing of, and regulate and improve, all public grounds belonging to the municipality, and may direct and regulate the planting and preserving of ornaments and shade trees along streets and sidewalks and in public grounds.
