Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 332.006
- Bequest: Property gifted by will.
- Devise: To gift property by will.
- Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
- Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
- Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
- Personal property: All property that is not real property.
A municipality or county may accept a grant, a lease, a loan or devise of real estate, a gift or bequest of money, either principal or income, or any other personal property for temporary or permanent use for the establishment, operation, or support of public recreation facilities and programs.
