(a) The governing body of a municipality may adopt an urban land bank demonstration program in which the officer charged with selling real property ordered sold pursuant to foreclosure of a tax lien may sell certain eligible real property by private sale for affordable housing development or other purposes as provided by this chapter.
(b) The governing body of a municipality that adopts an urban land bank demonstration program shall establish or approve a land bank for the purpose of acquiring, holding, and transferring unimproved real property under this chapter.

- Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
- Property: means real and personal property. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
