Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 43.122
- Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
A municipality may not annex for limited purposes any strip of territory, including a strip following the course of a road, highway, river, stream, or creek, that is, at its narrowest point, less than 1,000 feet in width and is located farther than three miles from the preexisting boundaries of the municipality, unless the area is annexed under § 43.129.
