Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 552.091
- Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
- Population: means the population shown by the most recent federal decennial census. See Texas Government Code 311.005
To exercise authority under this subchapter, a municipality must have:
(1) a population of less than 15,000;
(2) levied the maximum rate of tax allowed by law; and
(3) adopted Subchapters A through C, Chapter 312, Transportation Code.
