(a) The board may bring an action in its name to enjoin or restrain a person from violating this subtitle, a rule adopted under this subtitle, or another state statute or rule relating to the professions regulated under this subtitle.
(b) An action under this section must be brought in:
(1) the county in which the defendant resides; or
(2) the county in which the violation occurred or is threatened to occur.

- Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Rule: includes regulation. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
(c) In an action brought under this section, the board may be represented by the attorney general, the district attorney or the county attorney, and by other counsel as necessary.
