(a) The commission shall issue an appropriate license to an applicant who meets the requirements for a license.
(b) The commission may issue an inactive sales agent license to a person who applies for a sales agent license and satisfies all requirements for the license. The person may not act as a sales agent unless the person is sponsored by a licensed broker who has notified the commission as required by § 1101.367(b).

- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
(c) A license remains in effect for the period prescribed by the commission if the license holder complies with this chapter and pays the appropriate renewal fees.
