(a) The board shall immediately provide written notice to the applicant of the board’s denial of a certificate or license under this chapter.
(b) An appeal of the denial of a certificate or license is governed by Chapter 2001, Government Code.

- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
