Terms Used In Texas Occupations Code 154.054
- Board: means the Texas Medical Board. See Texas Occupations Code 151.002
- Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
- Disciplinary order: means an action taken under § 164. See Texas Occupations Code 151.002
- Health care entity: means :
(A) a hospital licensed under Chapter 241 or Texas Occupations Code 151.002 - License holder: means a person holding a license, permit, or certificate issued under this subtitle. See Texas Occupations Code 151.002
- Person: means an individual, unless the term is expressly made applicable to a partnership, association, or corporation. See Texas Occupations Code 151.002
- Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
- Written: includes any representation of words, letters, symbols, or figures. See Texas Government Code 311.005
On written request, the board shall provide information to a health care entity regarding:
(1) a complaint filed against a license holder that was resolved after investigation by:
(A) a disciplinary order of the board; or
(B) an agreed settlement; and
(2) the basis of and current status of any complaint under active investigation that has been assigned by the executive director to a person authorized by the board to pursue legal action.
