(a) The board may apply to the attorney general for representation by stating that the board previously requested the representation of a district or county attorney under § 201.508 and the district or county attorney failed to prosecute or proceed against the person accused of violating this chapter.
(b) The attorney general shall institute a civil or criminal proceeding against the person in the county of the person’s residence.

- Prosecute: To charge someone with a crime. A prosecutor tries a criminal case on behalf of the government.
